Upper And Lower Extremity Venous Evaluation

  • The veins of the arms and legs are the vessels  bring deoxgenated blood from the arms and the legs to be recirculated.
  • The purpose of the exam is to evaluate, whether any blood clots (new or old) are present.
  • The exam typically takes 30 to 60 minutes and no test preparation is needed.
  • Patients should wear loose fitting cloths, that allows access to the arms or legs.
  • A water based ultrasonic gel is applied to the skin and the Technologist will use an Ultrasound Transducer to aquire images.
