George Makkar Md Rpvi Facs

Dr. Makkar specializes in vascular surgery and joined Valley Vascular Associates, Inc. in July 2020. He was born and raised in West Los Angeles where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California completing a double major in Biological Sciences and Psychology. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC. Following this, he completed general and vascular surgery training at the University of Maryland Medical Center/R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD where he was recognized as Intern of the Year. Prior to joining Valley Vascular Associates, Dr. Makkar played an important role in developing the endovascular service line at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in San Bernardino, as well as developing a highly successful non-invasive vascular laboratory.

Dr. Makkar performs the full array of vascular surgical procedures, in both the open and endovascular fashion. This includes intervention for carotid disease, aortic disease, peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis access. He has a strong interest in limb salvage and diabetic foot ulcerations, as well as dialysis access.

In his spare time, Dr. Makkar enjoys going to the beach, traveling, spending time with his nephews, Lakers basketball and collecting sneakers.
